Goal - Prioritize Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

This policy ensures that the District has in place compliance procedures for ADA complaints received by members of the public related to the District's services, program and activities provided as well as the District's public transportation facilities, vehicles and transportation services.

BUDGETARY/FISCAL IMPACT:

There are no budgetary or fiscal impacts as a result of the proposed modifications to Board Policy 424.

BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:

Periodically, District staff review Board Policies for accuracy and relevance. The modifications proposed by staff reflect a title change to the individual staff responsible for coordinating the District's effort to comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The modifications also reflect that the grievance procedure, Section C (4) and (5) have been in place since May 16, 2018. Therefore, the time period for allegations of discrimination that occurred prior to the amended policy are no longer in effect and/or valid and have been deleted. The balance of the policy remains unchanged.

ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES:

There are no advantages/disadvantages to approving the proposed.

No alternative analysis was conducted.

PRIOR RELEVANT BOARD ACTION/POLICIES:

Board Policy 424 was amended by the Board of Directors on May 16, 2018.
