BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:
The Political Reform Act requires state and local government agencies to adopt and promulgate Conflict-of-Interest Codes. Each year, officials and employees whose positions are designated in the District’s Conflict-of-Interest Code must file an Annual Statement of Economic Interest with the District Secretary. The deadline to file as established by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) was Tuesday, April 1, 2020; however, this deadline was extended to June 1, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The District Secretary’s Office reports that out of 186 required annual filings for employees, consultants, Board members, and advisory committee members, all but four were received on or before the filing deadline of June 1, 2020. The District Secretary’s Office is working to collect these outstanding filings.

PRIOR RELEVANT BOARD ACTION/POLICIES:
On September 21, 1994, the Board of Directors directed the District Secretary to provide annual reports on the status of Statement of Economic Interest Filings (Form 700).
