This 2024 annual report will help to provide assurance to the Board that all Tempo Platform video requests fulfilled were made in accordance with their intended and authorized use as defined in Board Policy 411.

 

BUDGETARY/FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no budgetary or fiscal impact associated with this recommended action.

 

BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:

 

Board Policy 411 - Tempo Platform Camera Use, requires the District to maintain a log of all video requests.  The policy also requires an annual report to the Board identifying the types of data requests received and responded to, and the intended use.

 

In 2024, there were sixty-six (66) Tempo platform video requests made. Twenty (20) of the sixty-six (66) requests were from outside law enforcement agencies.  The remaining requests (46) were internal requests from staff. The attached 2024 summary report shows the dates, requestor and reason for the request. As part of the audit, staff determined that all requests from law enforcement agencies other than those contracted to provide service to the District were supported by proper court documents.

 

ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES:

 

Advantages - producing the annual report satisfies requirements set forth in Board Policy 411.

There are no disadvantages to providing this annual report.
