The Transit 2050+ long-range regional transit plan aims to improve connectivity between AC Transit and neighboring transit providers as outlined by the Blue-Ribbon Transit Recovery Taskforce and Transit Transformation Action Plan.

BUDGETARY/FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no additional funding/budget need for the Transit 2050+ plan. Transit 2050+ is a part of Plan Bay Area 2050+, which allocates transit agency funding based on the upcoming regionwide anticipated revenue forecast.

BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:

Transit 2050+ began as the Connected Network Plan that was identified in the Transit Transformation Action Plan and in the Plan Bay Area 2050 Implementation Plan. Transit 2050+ will develop a service-oriented, fiscally-constrained transit network concept by updating the transit-related strategies in Plan Bay Area 2050+ using a data-driven approach to identifying investment priorities.

The purpose of this presentation is to inform the AC Transit Board about the background, scope and schedule of the Transit 2050+ effort, introduce them to the work of the operator-led Project Management Team, review the plan's Problem Statement and Goals, and refamiliarize them with the AC Transit projects from Plan Bay Area 2050.
