The West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) is one of four Regional Transportation Planning Committees for Contra Costa County and serves as a planning and funding agency for West Contra Costa County. This regional body is critical for West Contra Costa to plan local projects and advocate for the interests of West Contra Costa County to the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. WCCTAC is governed by a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement, of which AC Transit is a member. WCCTAC's Board of Directors initiated an update of the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement that must be adopted by the individual member agencies.

BACKGROUND/RATIONALE:

The West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) is one of four Regional Transportation Planning Committees (RTPC) in Contra Costa County. The RTPC's were created to manage the 1988 Measure C 1/2 cent sales tax for transportation projects and programs, and its extension, Measure J, approved by Contra Costa County voters in 2004.
